Artist in residency
Shtatëmbëdhjetë welcomes applications from artists of various mediums, researchers, theorists, writers, scientists from Kosovo for a 1 – 3 months stay at Rezidenca 17 within the INFRARED program.
INFRARED Art Residency focuses on issues related to the environment and aims to promote research and artistic development around it. INFRARED has been developed based on the nature of infrared light which is generally invisible to the human eye, but that can be felt as heat, and which can only be seen under certain conditions and with special equipment. In the same line of thought, the INFRARED Art Residency aspires to identify emerging environmental issues through art. Therefore, it includes all kinds of approaches to the purpose of residency beyond artistic development. In this way, INFRARED tries to create a public dialogue on environmental issues through the residences.
This program supports the process of developing a research or experimental idea, organizing a public talk/presentation and open approach to work through the open-studio format.

The program of Rezidenca 17 for 2024 is implemented in cooperation with the Municipality of Pristina and supported by SMART Balkans and by the Regional office of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Tirana, within the framework of “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” (CC4WBs), a project funded by the European Union that aims to foster dialogue in the Western Balkans by enhancing the cultural and creative sectors for increased socio-economic impact.
