ARTS & EDUCATION

Integration of arts and education in community revitalization is a precondition to lasting change that can influence development-related systems and practices that expand opportunities for citizens of all genders. Everyone deserves the opportunity to develop their creative potential and participate and contribute meaningfully in the community by arts and education practices. Through Arts & Education program, we bring artists, youth, students of different levels, cultural influences and audiences together to address some of society’s most complex problems and ultimately, drive change through dialogue, leadership and action. Shtatëmbëdhjetë aims to enable this through organizing sustainable projects, mapping networks, curating exhibitions, lectures, forums, seminars, research, publication, artistic residency, production, site specific artistic interventions and generating discourse on Arts & Education.

SPACE

This program aims to nourish and sustain spaces of thinking and action in the broadest sense of the word. These spaces take the form of interdisciplinary centers that combine the intellectual and the creative in order to provide a forum which is able to respond to relevant social issues. They provide a platform to engage in constructive dialogue by encouraging questions that seek to push boundaries and challenge conventional answers, and they support the creation of diverse and multi-faceted global perspectives as represented by the dynamic exchange and engagement of communities and artists.
They are purposefully situated as part of a larger network of change making centers, and will be expanded in continuation via scouting activities.

CULTURAL ACTIVISM

This program aspires to encourage cultural activism through education, outreaches, artistic interventions and advocacy actions in order to create inclusive public spaces that in turn lead to social change. Shtatëmbëdhjetë engages citizens of all genders in public life through meaningful participation opportunities and develops partnerships that expand the community’s participation in the public life as well as work with central and local public institutions and organizations to create synergies for our shared priorities. This program challenges dominant interpretations, and constructions of the world while presenting alternative socio political and spatial imaginaries in ways, which challenge relationships between art, politics, participation and spectatorship.
