Manushaqe Ibrahimi is an emerging artist from Kosova, living and working between Prishtina and Brno. In general, her work is related to intersectional methodologies and issues that address collective memory, (re)engagement with neglected public or private spaces, being outlined by an attempt at anthropological documentation and an intimacy of the attempted recognition that comes through the images she creates.
As part of the INFRARED Residency, she is developing a project that begins with a family herbarium from the 1980s, collected in Kosovo during a period of political isolation. Through this archive, the project examines shifts in biodiversity and environmental “invisibilities” shaped by time, urbanization, and the climate crisis.
By combining scientific research with artistic experimentation—including photography and the transformation of materials into new forms—the project seeks to reveal traces of lost flora and raise awareness about environmental preservation. The process is complemented by public activities and workshops, reconnecting audiences with practices of documenting nature while linking personal memory to contemporary ecological challenges.
