Location: Rezidenca 17
During these co-creation sessions, various synthesis and sampling techniques will be applied to create new sounds for creative musical use. The sessions will also include time for participants to go outdoors and to different parts of the city to record environmental sounds using their personal phones. In addition, they will record their own voices to be used creatively in music production.
These recorded sounds will serve as raw material to design new sounds/instruments, which will then be used to develop a musical idea that will be presented on the final day of the session.
Tomor Kuçi is a music producer, composer/songwriter, and one of the founders of the first modern music faculty in Kosovo, where he teaches audio production. He completed his Master’s degree in Audio Production at the University of Westminster in London, studying under professors who have worked with artists such as U2, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave, David Bowie, Underworld, and others. He is known as a singer-songwriter and vocalist of the band The Freelancers, with whom he released a 12-track album and performed at international festivals such as Sziget Festival and Exit Festival. With the group Oborri, he released a 14-track album and toured across the Balkans. He has composed and performed music for over 10 theater productions. Tomor has collaborated as a producer/engineer and musician with both local and international artists and has been recognized with awards for his work — including Best Original Score at the Sapporo International Short Film Festival in Japan, where he was one of the composers for the film’s music. He has over 15 years of experience in the music scene.
At the end of the sessions, all participants will receive a certificate of participation.
