Trina Hashani, a young diaspora artist from London with Kosovar roots, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from UAL Chelsea. She utilizes a diverse range of mediums including sculpture, painting, installation art, photography and video to raise awareness about neglected environments marked by destructive practices. Growing up in London and witnessing the gradual neglect of her family hometown in Obliq and Hade, she aims to emphasize the significance of preserving a healthy environment through her art and research. Trina explores how spaces influence identity and discovery, endeavoring to build communities with shared backgrounds while expressing the oral history of different generations amidst neglect and destruction through visual art. Also, she focuses on connecting spaces that have been neglected or abandoned to seek a positive outcome, she’s aiming for sustainable rebuilding and improvement instead of giving in to Western influences ideology or becoming a wasteland.
