About this collaboration
Milvus Artistic Research Center (MARC) is an international residency center advocating for artists within the fields of dance, choreography, and the visual arts through residencies, networking, mentorship, and dialogue with local communities in Skåne. Based in a late 19th century shoe factory in the small town of Knislinge in southern Sweden, MARC engages a diverse populace, asserting every person’s right to culture through year-round public programs, including performances, workshops, exhibitions, installations, and interventions. Through ongoing pedagogical activities, MARC creates a safe and democratic space for the public and artists alike, sharing perspectives, experiences, and values in an economically challenged and underserved rural community.
