Erëmirë Krasniqi has been selected as the 2025 Styria-Artists-in-Residence for Graz. Each year, Shtatëmbëdhjetë and the Regional Government of Styria exchange one artist between Kosovo and Graz.
During her three-month residency from November 2025 to January 2026, Krasniqi will research and write about the history of video art in the decade following the 1999 Kosovo War, focusing on artists who used the medium to address war trauma, gender disparities, and evolving notions of nationhood leading up to Kosovo’s 2008 independence. While in Graz, she will be affiliated with Camera Austria, an international magazine dedicated to lens-based media, consulting their archive and library. Ahead of her residency, Krasniqi brought her critical eye to Camera Austria, reviewing the 13th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art: passing the fugitive on, in issue 171.
Erëmirë Krasniqi is an art writer based in Prishtina, Kosovo. Her writing has appeared in Artforum, frieze, Springerin, and ArtReview, among others.
