Metamorphosis III | Site specific artistic intervention

*Access to the building has been denied by Commission of Kosovar Institute for Monument Protection. This performance has been amended to comply with the restrictions imposed by the agency who is otherwise tasked with the protection and preservation of this historic monument.
Before anything is said we have to acknowledge and respect that this building was once someone’s home and someone’s safe space.
In our excess, it comes as no surprise that we abandon and turn a blind eye to this historic building. Despite a deep desire to recreate a visual memory of its interior, to reimagine its stories, we are instead left with a feeling of helplessness. We despair, feeling the heartbreak of the ones who were once separated from this very space. Our presence is an intrusion into a story that is not ours to tell.
Running water is deliberately and collectively forgotten. As it runs – everything is washed away.
The artwork is an invitation to listen and to face the music.
