Shkamb Jaka (born in 1997) is an artist that lives and works in Kosovo. He received a BFA (2020) and MFA
(2023) in the department of Painting at the University of Prishtina. His interests span painting,
installation, video and sound with a keen curiosity for quantum physics and virtual worlds. Jaka’s body of
work leans on immersive spaces and the creation of utopian places as seen from a 4th dimension or
higher. Based on scientific experiments/theories he creates his fictive solutions. Some of his works
include “Technotopia: Is This Hyperreal?”(2024) – solo show at Tulla-Culture Center, “Possible Worlds;
Sinking Into Virtual Lands”(2023) – installation at Stacion CCA Prishtina, “Solo”(2023) – installation at
Center for Narrative Practice, “Spooky Action at a Distance”(2021) – solo show at Paper Gallery, “Based
on a True Story”(2021) – installation at the National Gallery of Kosovo
Jaka is a beneficiary of the “Matanë” Residency program for 2024, a collaboration between
Shtatëmbëdhjetë in Prishtina, Art House in Shkodra and Kontrapunkt is Skopje, and in partnership with
Municipality of Prishtina.
